Supporting People with Long Term Conditions At Work (Workshop)

The number of people with long-term conditions entering the workforce is increasing at a rapid rate, as is the number of people being diagnosed with a life-altering condition during their working life. Forward-thinking employers are now realising that learning how to engage and accommodate this talent pool is key to developing a sustainable workforce for the future. If your team is ready to level up your knowledge and develop your strategy in this area, Astriid’s Supporting People With Long-Term Conditions At Work workshop is for you.

This workshop is designed and delivered by our renowned team, all of whom are lived experience experts in managing long-term conditions at work. Our own experiences, combined with Astriid’s research and subject expertise, make us frontrunners in this area, and ideally placed to deliver practical tips, advice, and words of wisdom that go far beyond the basics of legal compliance.

Through this workshop, we will cover:

  • An introduction to Long Term Conditions and Energy Limiting Conditions
  • The numerous benefits of supporting people with long-term conditions in work, as well as the risks of not doing so
  • How to facilitate confident conversations about health, disability and work with employees and colleagues
  • Examples of workplace adjustments that can support employees’ physical and emotional wellbeing and enable them to remain in their role
  • How to adapt your inclusion strategies to support and empower employees with retention and career longevity in mind
  • Take-home tips to help you evaluate your workplace’s culture and how this can be made more inclusive for all

Through group discussions, real life case studies and short videos, our workshop provides you with the knowledge to be confident in what long term and energy limiting conditions are, how to create open and honest conversations, what impactful workplace adjustments look like and how these can be implemented,  and how to effectively work with employees to facilitate inclusion and sustainability in the workplace.

After the session, you will receive a downloadable resource that will include topics that are covered.  This is also available in Welsh.
