Long-term health conditions can often affect people’s self-esteem, especially in the world of work. Confidence building with a chronic illness is something many of our candidates find challenging at first, but with the right support, it can be achieved!
“I feel very much appreciative of Astriid and all the help I got, because I feel that without that help, I probably wouldn’t have been given that role.”
Molly first heard about Astriid through Miranda Hart, who has endorsed the charity through her social media platforms and remains a keen supporter of our work. Molly, who has a chronic illness, had been seeking suitable work for quite some time and immediately signed up as a candidate. She’d had mixed experiences with other charities who she’d reached out to for help and she didn’t know what to expect, but Astriid went on to play a key role in her employment journey.
Candidate co-ordinator Trish helped Molly to identify her skills and interests, allowing her to build confidence and refine her goals. The team also connected her with industry professionals who offered support and feedback on her CV, and she went on to secure numerous interviews with prospective employers. She was thrilled to be offered a paid advisor role, and is very appreciative of the support from Astriid which helped her to secure this new occupation, especially their support with confidence building with a chronic illness.
Molly’s success story is a prime example of how Astriid can assist people with chronic illnesses in finding and preparing for work!
